“I remember when this idea was announced. The main thought I had was “Fantastic idea! Hopefully the game itself is good.” It was so much better than good. It was amazing. Watching Judge and the other players walk out of the cornfields was beautiful, and the game we got was so fitting for the location. It seemed like the White Sox were going to run away with it at first. Sure, Judge was scary as ever, but the White Sox's best players were performing and building a lead. By the time we entered the 9th inning, it felt inevitable. Then Judge hit his 2nd home run, Gallo got the rare non-strikeout, and Giancarlo hit his own home run to give New York the lead. I imagine Shoeless Joe watched that Stanton home run with a subtle frown, only to bring back a subtle smile when Tim Anderson, wearing the jersey he used to wear, smacked the first pitch into the corn fields and walked it off with a 2-run homer. It was a cinematic ending for a game that felt like a dream. Fitting for the Field of Dreams.”
