Kind of a strange one, but also not really. Very high octane offense is much appreciated, sadly, this game became one-sided after the 1st quarter. There’s no one aspect responsible for this disparity, it just happened. There are many suspects for why the Blazers won by 20. First, there is Jrue Holiday, taking a break from helping contenders get over the hump and providing great defense and offense to a mid-team in the Blazers. There’s also Jerami Grant having a productive 23 points and Clingan nearly having a 20 rebound outing that includes 7 offensive rebounds which was nearly as much as Memphis had all game long. Scoot also made his return and looked pretty good. He had a nice dunk too, but nothing special beyond his playmaking. For the Grizzlies, Cam Spencer was great, Prosper had a rough night and everyone else ranged from okay to mediocre. The Grizzlies just couldn’t keep up once Portland got rolling, not helped by their inability to generate offense in the paint.
