“Japan crushed Tunisia to the surprise of absolutely no-one. I fell asleep during this game at halftime so I’d blame the halftime show before I blame the game itself. However, that doesn’t mean this game was a thriller. Japan was entertaining as ever, but I ask again to the Tunisia FA: what did you expect Herve Renard do with a team he’s never coached? Japan immediately proved mine and everyone’s belief that Tunisia was screwed by scoring a kind of awkward goal just 4 minutes into it and then doubling the lead 25 minutes later thanks to Ueda. In the 2nd half, Japan was basically showing off, scoring a couple beauties to officially make this game a blowout and cement Tunisia as a classic case of a team benefitting from a horrifically easy qualification group. Japan made up for 99% of the entertainment value while the other 1% was laughing at Tunisia and me feeling bad for Herve Renard (seriously man, you’re too good for this shitshow). Ueda was fantastic in this game. ”
