“It took a while, but France eventually broke Morocco down and tore them apart like they’ve done to so many teams, including Morocco themselves 4 years ago. This is the 2nd time in a row that Morocco has bowed out to France in the World Cup and this is the 3rd World Cup in a row that France has made it to the semi-final. One thing everyone knew going into this one was the fact that Morocco was going to be stout and they lived up to that reputation. The problem is that’s the only part they lived up to. Despite an incredible Bounou performance, including a save on an Mbappé penalty, the Atlas Lions couldn’t generate anything on the attack. Only shot they had came from a free kick. France eventually made Morocco rue their lack of desperation as the dictator made them kneel. Ousmane doubled the lead 5 minutes later. Even though Morocco finally managed to get some shots, including a good one that Maignan had to stop, they just couldn’t get enough and France once again crushed their dreams. ”
