Suns win a great game in surprising fashion. The Suns didn’t have Devin Booker and their 2nd best player/breakout star Dillon Brooks shot 3/16 from the field. If someone told me those things would happen prior to this game, I’d assume they got dog-walked. Instead, Gillespie played the best game of his career while Mark Williams and Grayson Allen had terrific outings to help Phoenix keep up with Portland’s high powered offense and win this game. Gillespie set a new career high in points and tied his career high in 3-pointers in his first ever 30-point 10-assist outing. Alongside him, Mark Williams had one of the best games of his career. While he set no career highs, 24-points and 12-rebounds is a brilliant night for him. His 7 offensive rebounds were crucial in keeping pace with Portland, including one at the end to prevent any chance of a comeback. Grayson Allen’s game could be called business as usual, but it was a great performance regardless. Jordan Goodwin was a big help too.
