“20 years ago, the Carolina Hurricanes won game 7 to clinch the Stanley Cup on the back of a terrific rookie goaltender’s great performance. Today, the Hurricanes have won game 6 to clinch the Stanley Cup on the back of another rookie goaltender’s great performance. The Carolina Hurricanes are Stanley Cup champions. They won that Cup like how they won this game: relentless pressure, clutch goaltending when it has to and an unstoppable line that will go down in the history books. Stake n Hall drove the offense. Former Oilers top pick Taylor Hall scored to make it 1-0 and Stankoven singlehandedly preserved the puck and set up Blake for goal #2 in the 2nd. From there, there was 1 man who was the star: Brandon “Bus Stop” Bussi. He made sure Vegas never had any hope of another comeback with so many big saves. He won’t win the Conn Smythe, but he still continued the Cam Ward lineage. This game was just okay, but there’s only 1 man on my mind. Rod Brind’Amour. Rod the Bod. Mr. Hurricanes. ”
