“It was a hell of a ride this year with the Illini. So proud of this team for what they accomplished this year. To all the guys going into the draft, I hope they go on to have successful careers. Wagler, Z. Ivisic, T. Ivisic, Stojakaovic, and Boswell will forever be remembered. Now to the game, Illinois really struggled from beyond the arc which in my opinion is the number one contributor to this loss. I also felt we struggled to play as a team, only tallying three assists in comparison to UConn’s 14. The commentators even joked by saying we were playing a ton of “Solo Ball” which is a play on UConn’s player, Solo Ball. Although Demary didn’t tally much on the stat sheet, I felt he may have made the biggest impact for UConn, he was always in the right place when the Huskies needed him. He finished with 7 PTS, 9 REB, 7 AST, in 31 MIN, with only 1 TO. Gotta give some credit to Reed aswell with 17 PTS, 11 REB, I mean he is just a unit in the paint. Wagler had 20 PTS. T. Ivisic had 16 PTS”
