“I picked the Sparks to win, so I was partial to them winning. Portland was controlling the game, but a 12-2 run in the third quarter got the Sparks back in it. From there it was a back-in-forth game with Carleton hitting a couple threes. The Sparks played team basketball and got contributions from Ogwumike, Wheeler and Atkins. But the Fire put together a 9-2 run to take the lead with 1:32 left. Ogwumike hit a clutch three and found a wide open Hamby for a bunny. It seemed like all the offensive boards by the Fire were going to be the Sparks downfall, but they made their free throws and had some key defensive plays , including forcing a turnover late. Carleton was amazing from three, but it wasn’t enough. Ogwumike and Hamby both with double-doubles really did it all for the Sparks. A nice and much-needed road win for the Sparks. They put an end to a pretty ugly seven-game losing streak. The Fire had their chances, but just couldn’t get a stop or two when they needed it.”
