Never before in my life have I seen a ref crew lay down and take it as much as I did tonight. Izzo literally had them in his pocket.
Not only that, but I have heard from countless alumni that Mackey has a legacy of being one of the hardest places to walk out of with a win. Hearing all of that only to drop 4 at home is so, so unbelievably deflating.
It's the same thing I feel with Josh Allen, but there would have been no other player I would have trusted more to win the game in that moment, but just feel short... again. I know I shouldn't let sports control my emotions as much as I seem to do, but with the sky high expectations this team has, I don't know how else to feel but have a complicated mix of emotions.
Just one game at a time I guess. Please Painter get Jacobsen off the team.
