“A physical tight game ends with a scrappy comeback and 2 clutch defensive stops. This felt like a game straight out of 2000. Lots of physical defense, neither team could make their shots and rebounding was king. The main difference was the pace being much faster. In that way, it bears more similarity to the 80s than the 2000s, but I digress. This did not play out like a typical game as we know basketball in the year 2026. In many ways, it was to its benefit. This game was very physical and some players thrived. Most notably, CMB seemed to relish it. The rookie showed absolutely 0 fear on both sides of the floor. Whether he was defending Cleveland’s best players, grabbing rebounds or making shots himself, he never looked out of place. Scottie Barnes and Ingram were far from perfect, but they made the plays they had to. Barnes had his clutch free throws and playmaking while Ingram made some big shots at the right time. The Raptors showed excellent resilience despite the struggles. ”
