“APPALACHIAN STATE HAS STUNNED THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL WORLD! ONE OF THE GREATEST UPSETS IN SPORTS HISTORY! An all-time call for an all-time game. It cannot be understated how shocking this upset was. If you don’t believe me, here are some quotes from around this time: “They don’t want to see Appalachian State. They don’t want to see easy non-conference games” - Kirk Herbstreit, 2007 “In college we start every season against Appalachian State or some slack division 2 team, kick the living shit out of them” - Adam Sandler, Longest Yard, 2005 THAT was the perception of App State!
