@FlameRaptorRaven rated the South Africa vs Mexico game 6.8 out of 10 in FIFA on June 11, 2026. Final score: South Africa 0 – Mexico 2. Group A. Fan ratings and discussion on RateGame.

Quite a feisty start to this World Cup, but it wasn’t a bad one. I have to imagine both sets of supporters were thinking back to 2010 when South Africa drew Mexico and scored the first goal of the tournament. It took 16 years, but Mexico finally achieved their revenge as they just simply outclassed South Africa. It already wasn’t looking good considering how long it took South Africa to even get a shot, let alone a shot on goal, but watching them give he ball away to concede the first goal of the game made it even worse. Shoutout to Lira for controlling the midfield and creating the first goal of the tournament. At halftime, it looked bleak for South Africa, it only took 5 minutes for it to look hopeless when Sithole received the first red of the tournament and left South Africa with 10 men. We got a nice feel-good moment with Jimenez in-between a ton of animosity and 2 more red cards, setting the record for most red cards in a World Cup opener. Hopefully if only goes up from here.
