“This game made me sick to my stomach. The Celtics were appalling. At no point did they appear to be trying to win this game. I’m so shocked. It might be the worst single playoff game performance I’ve ever seen from a team I expected to do much better. I’m not sure I would call this a historic collapse, but it is at least a mild one. Mazzulla starting a lineup that includes Harper Jr., Scheierman, and Garza is coaching malpractice. What did he think would happen here? As a game seven performance, this is singularly bad. There’s no way around that. But a lot of things about the Celtics game was exposed in this series. The two critical issues from my perspective were three point scoring and fewer shots in the paint. We shot worse and had fewer opportunities to take high percentage shots. At the halfway point of the game, I thought the Celtics season was fraudulent. But they deserve some credit for an astonishing regular season. At the same time, the playoffs are what matter. ”
