“This was not just one of the greatest college football upsets of all time, but one of the greatest upsets in all of sports! Michigan came into this game as national title favorites, and App State as complete nobodies. Michigan got this game started just how they wanted to with a quick touchdown, but App State responded right away with a long TD to set the tone for this game! The Wolverines did answer again, and the Mountaineers scored three straight touchdowns to take a shocking lead into halftime! Armanti Edwards played the first half of his life, but he tried to sell hard with three brutal turnovers that let Michigan back into this game. Mike Hart was the key contributor with three huge TDs, and he gave the Wolverines the lead with less than 5 minutes left. Thankfully for this story, App State responded! A very late field goal gave them the lead, but Michigan hit a hail mary and had a chance to win with a short field goal! Somehow, Corey Lynch blocked it as Michigan was stunned!”
