“The Portland Trail Blazers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 108–104 in a tight and frustrating game for Minnesota, where Portland controlled most of the first half and built a lead of up to 18 points before the Timberwolves fought all the way back and even briefly took the lead late in the fourth quarter, but Jerami Grant stepped up with 26 points, hitting a clutch three and sealing the game with free throws in the final seconds, while Donovan Clingan added 21 points and 12 rebounds and Deni Avdija had 25 points and 8 rebounds, and even though Minnesota showed a lot of fight to erase the big deficit, they couldn’t execute in the final minute and missed key chances, including a potential tying opportunity, which allowed Portland to extend their winning streak to three games while the Timberwolves dropped a tough one after recent wins, and the surprising fact is that Minnesota came back from minus 18 and still lost, which is exactly the kind of game that sticks with a team.”
