Stanford Stadium

Stanford Stadium is the home of Stanford Cardinal football in Palo Alto, California. The modern dual-deck concrete structure replaced the original 1921 stadium in 2006, offering an intimate 50,424-seat configuration that brings fans closer to the action. The design eliminated the track that once ringed the field, creating a football-focused experience. Nestled in the Stanford campus, it provides one of college football's most scenic settings. The venue has hosted numerous significant games and events.

The original Stanford Stadium opened on November 19, 1921, after just five months of construction, with an initial capacity of 60,000. By 1927 it had expanded to 85,500, once hosting 94,000 for a game against California. The aging facility was demolished in 2005 and rebuilt as a modern venue, reopening September 16, 2006. The new stadium prioritizes sightlines and fan experience. Stanford Stadium has hosted Super Bowl XIX and numerous international soccer matches.
