McCarthey Athletic Center

The McCarthey Athletic Center, nicknamed 'The Kennel,' is the home of Gonzaga Bulldogs basketball in Spokane, Washington. It opened in November 2004 as Gonzaga outgrew its previous on-campus gym, and it has since become one of the toughest home courts in the West Coast Conference and the country. Sellout student crowds packed close to the floor make it one of college basketball's signature intimidating environments.

Opened on November 19, 2004 and inheriting 'The Kennel' nickname from Gonzaga's previous home, the Charlotte Y. Martin Centre, the McCarthey Athletic Center has been sold out for essentially every men's basketball game since it opened. It has been the backdrop for Gonzaga's emergence as a perennial national power and top seed under coach Mark Few, hosting long home winning streaks along the way.
