Spectrum Center sits in uptown Charlotte as the home of the Hornets. The arena's clean sightlines and central location make it a convenient anchor for the city's sports and entertainment scene. Beyond Hornets basketball, it regularly hosts concerts, family shows and the city's biggest one-off events. Its buzzing purple-and-teal color scheme gives home games a distinct visual identity.
It opened in October 2005 as Charlotte Bobcats Arena, later becoming Time Warner Cable Arena before taking the Spectrum Center name in 2016. In 2019 it hosted the NBA All-Star Game, drawing an estimated 150,000 visitors to the city over the weekend. The arena has served as the downtown hub for Carolina basketball through the Bobcats-to-Hornets transition. It has become one of the city's signature venues for major touring concerts as well.
