Rogers Arena sits in downtown Vancouver, steps from the waterfront, as the home of the Canucks. Its glass-heavy exterior and central location make it a hub for game nights and downtown nightlife alike. The building has also served as an Olympic venue, giving it a global sporting pedigree beyond hockey's regular season. Concerts and major touring events keep it busy well beyond the Canucks' schedule.
It opened in 1995 as General Motors Place before later becoming Rogers Arena. During the 2010 Winter Olympics it was renamed Canada Hockey Place and hosted the men's and women's ice hockey tournaments, including Sidney Crosby's overtime "golden goal" that won gold for Canada. The arena has also been the stage for deep Canucks playoff runs, including the franchise's 2011 Stanley Cup Final appearance. It remains one of the NHL's premier Canadian buildings.
