Hilton Coliseum is the home of Iowa State Cyclones basketball in Ames, Iowa. It is one of the loudest and most feared road environments in the Big 12 Conference, packing a devoted student section tight around the court.
Opened in December 1971, the arena's raucous home-court atmosphere is famously dubbed 'Hilton Magic,' a phenomenon credited with countless Cyclones upsets of ranked opponents. Built in the Ioway Creek flood plain, the building was inundated with as much as 14 feet of water in the Great Flood of 1993 and again in 2010, yet its largely concrete construction allowed it to be restored to service both times. It continues to anchor Iowa State men's and women's basketball.
