Overview
The Fertitta Center is the on-campus basketball arena for the Houston Cougars in Houston, Texas. The intimate, modern venue seats just over 7,000 fans close to the court, giving it one of the most raucous, pressure-cooker atmospheres in college basketball for one of the sport's premier programs.
History & Legacy
Built on the footprint of the old Hofheinz Pavilion (1969) and reopened after a full renovation in 2018, the Fertitta Center became a fortress for Houston as the program rose to national title contention under Kelvin Sampson. The Cougars strung together a 37-game home winning streak from December 2019 to February 2022 and have continued to dominate there, including a run of 47 wins in 48 home games entering the 2025-26 season.

Argue with a wall idc.
Fell in love with this place before I even became a student and I’ve been countless times since.
Only downfall is the small size but that’s what gives it a special amount of intimacy and closeness to the game that no other arena has ever given me.
