United Supermarkets Arena is the home arena of the Texas Tech Red Raiders men's and women's basketball teams in Lubbock, Texas. The 15,098-seat arena also hosts Red Raiders volleyball and has become one of the Big 12's louder, more raucous venues on a big night. Its large capacity and steep upper bowl let Lubbock crowds generate real noise for marquee conference matchups. The building anchors Texas Tech's athletics campus alongside the football stadium and other major facilities.
The arena opened October 1, 1999 at a cost of $62.775 million, with the Red Raiders playing their first game there on November 19 that year. Known as United Spirit Arena for its first 15 years, it was renamed United Supermarkets Arena in 2014 as the naming-rights deal was updated. Its signature moment came in 2019, when Texas Tech basketball rode a home crowd that regularly packed the arena all the way to the program's first appearance in the NCAA national championship game. It remains the beating heart of Big 12 basketball in West Texas.
