“The WNBA PR has been atrocious recently so a couple of banger games on a Saturday is exactly what they needed. This is the game I had more faith in and it did not disappoint, although it’s not quite as amazing as the earlier game was. Sabrina Ionescu started hot and kept simmering throughout the game as she helped the Liberty hang on for the win. Wasn’t as easy as New York wanted, the Mercury wouldn’t go away and nearly had a crazy last-minute comeback in the 4th. They better thank their lucky stars that Breanna Stewart came up clutch with those free throws or else we may be talking about how the Liberty blew this game and lost in overtime. Copper and Bonner were the major reasons for that, Bonner especially. They probably would’ve pulled it off if not for New York’s dominance in the glass. Not just Sabrina, but Han Xu, Stewart and Jonquel Jones were all preventing second chances. Although, if the Mercury don’t miss a few 4th quarter free throws, maybe it doesn’t matter. ”
