“The Spurs built up a big lead in the 1st quarter and actually kept it, it’s a bloody miracle. Jokes aside, the Spurs did what they had to. They shut down OKC and hit their shots. Sounds basic, but they had been struggling to do both post-1st quarter throughout this series. If they can repeat this in game 7, there’s no reason they can’t steal this series. Speaking of bloody, this game was a massacre. The Alien had 0 interest in going home. 28, 10 and 3 blocks certainly help with that. For me tho, I think the bigger part was stopping SGA. Keeping him under 20 points and most importantly, off the free throw line, limited OKC’s offense. They shot under 40% from the field and under 30 from 3. Those splits don’t happen without San Antonio’s defense and their offense putting the foot on OKC’s throat. Aside from Wemby, Castile had a great game and Vassell made a big statement when he stuffed Chet at the rim despite the obvious height difference. Praying game 7 is an all-time classic.”
