Ball Arena

Ball Arena in downtown Denver is the mile-high home of the Nuggets, Avalanche, and the National Lacrosse League's Mammoth, one of the busiest multi-tenant buildings in American sports. Set along the South Platte River next to Denver's Ball Park neighborhood, it anchors a full entertainment district of bars and restaurants that fills up on game nights. The building rotates between hockey, basketball, and lacrosse configurations through the winter, giving Denver fans nonstop pro sports under one roof. Its downtown location and packed calendar make it one of the most consistently lively arenas in the country.

The arena opened in October 1999 as the Pepsi Center, replacing McNichols Arena as home for the Avalanche and Nuggets. It has hosted multiple Avalanche Stanley Cup championship runs, including the 2001 and 2022 titles, cementing Denver as a genuine hockey market. In 2023, the Nuggets clinched the franchise's first-ever NBA championship at home in Game 5 of the Finals, a landmark moment after 47 years without a title. Renamed Ball Arena in 2020 after a new naming-rights deal, the building remains the central hub of Colorado's professional sports scene.
