Estadio Akron

Estadio Akron in Zapopan, Guadalajara is the home of Chivas — Mexico's most popular club — known for its dramatic design that rises from the landscape like a volcano crowned with a cloud-like roof. Its sweeping, tiered exterior has made it one of the most visually distinctive stadiums in Liga MX, and inside, the all-Mexican Chivas roster draws a fiercely loyal crowd that fills the bowl with color and noise on matchdays. For the 2026 World Cup the stadium takes on the temporary name Estadio Guadalajara.

Opened in 2010 as Estadio Omnilife, it has carried several commercial names over the years — including Estadio Chivas — before settling into its current Estadio Akron identity. A modern Liga MX showpiece, it has hosted continental club fixtures and international friendlies since opening. As one of three Mexican host cities, it stages 2026 World Cup matches in the country's soccer-mad second city, briefly rebranded as Estadio Guadalajara for the tournament.
